Oil on canvas

The Emotion of Motion is a series of seven paintings that explore emotions experienced over 25 years within the same space: the artist’s bedroom. This installation invites the audience to engage both emotionally and physically with the work through the exposed curtains.

Depending on the exhibition space, to view each painting, a curtain must be drawn which may be open or closed depending on the choice of the last visitor. This gesture adds suspense and a sense of discovery, deepening the interactive experience.

Each painting represents a distinct emotion, expressed through the movement of the curtain within the artwork itself. The absence of floor and ceiling conveys a sense of infinity and entrapment, while the unreachable window reveals a blue sky a symbol of hope and distant freedom. The side walls intensify the feeling of claustrophobia.

A recurring element in the paintings is the staircase, inspired by the artist’s childhood and grandparents’ home. It symbolizes the path toward escape and the physical and spiritual liberation of the mind.
